Stop The Presses! And Credit Card Debt!
Hello everyone, I'm Dave Dutch reporting tonight on a growing epidemic across this nation. No it's not some new strain on flu or west nile virus, but credit card debt that is wreaking the havoc in question. The Herald has given me the time and the responsibility to investigate this disturbing trend. See what kind of damage this problem is causing to people's lives, and what those very same people are doing to cope, and to reduce credit card debt before it afflicts their entire existences for many years.
Read as I penetrate the deep underworld of credit card debt and find out how America is coping.
Here's my report. It focuses entirely on the evils of credit card debt.
National credit card debt has reached all-time highs
It's a cold and rainy night here in Dorchester, Massachusetts. The winds of help are in the air. Jamal O'Neal, 23, sits on his living room couch, staring out the window. "I had no idea that creditors could totally jack me like that. I was looking fly with fresh gear and plenty of ladies, but the company never told me I had to pay back all the money I spent, not to mention with interest on top," O'Neal sighs.
Jamal is just one example of how young adults, ages 18-24, wind up in credit card debt. At first the excitement of being sent and approved for a credit cad is invigorating. Kids can't wait to go out and show their friends and make their first real purchase on a credit card. Owning a credit card is a smart a practical idea. You need to own a credit card to buy a house, a car and many other things but if you abuse your credit card, buying these things becomes nearly impossible. There is nothing fun about debt.
If you wish to end credit card debt, do not give up hope!
There is no way to eliminate credit card debt if you do not try on your own first, with the help of Debt Reduction Herald.
Fortunately, there are sites out there that will help troubled souls consolidate credit card debt and turn things around. Thanks to one such site, Jamal is doing better these days. He has learned his lesson. He is one of the thousands who have taken that first step towards dealing with debt. He is in a program and learning the right, repsonsible way to own and use a credit card. And while he still rocks his fresh gear, it is a reminder to him of past mistake. Mistakes with credit card debt that he'll never make again.
For the Debt Reduction Herald, I'm Dave Dutch, signing off.
